Emmaus Inn Ministries desires all people with intellectual and physical disabilities to find a place of belonging, where they can explore their God-given potential through knowing the love of Jesus Christ and discovering the possibility of a relationship with him.

Emmaus Inn Ministries began on May 1, 2016. It began with Lydia Martinez and Nick Palermo taking weekly walks of prayer they called their Emmaus walks. From these walks, the dream of a ministry that would encompass our friends of all ages and abilities developed.

Emmaus's story in Luke chapter 24 captures so much of what we want to do, which is to walk alongside needy and discouraged friends with disabilities and encourage them on the road of life. We want to gather together in community as seen in the Emmaus story where the weary travelers recognize Jesus at the meal and are encouraged as he reminds them of God’s word. They are so excited that they rush back to tell their friends about the good news of Jesus!


Get To Know Some of Your New Friends

  • Josh

    Josh loves Jesus and loves people. He has found meaning and purpose in our EIM family. He always smiles even if he doesn't feel great. He gives the best bear hugs.

  • Adan

    Adan is a leader who happens to have special needs. He is incredibly independent, charismatic and brings energy and humor to our club.

  • John

    John is a wonderful and generous volunteer. He works as a police officer full time. He volunteers his time to show the love of Christ to our EIM friends.

  • Staci

    Our goal is to raise up leaders that are caring and devoted. That would be Staci. She has been doing a great job volunteering with Emmaus for 5 years.

  • Frank

    Frank is protective of our Jessie's Club. He sets out our signs and makes sure everyone gets to their ride at the end of club. He is fiercely loyal and reliable. He has been working for Target for 15 years.

  • Sam

    Sam has been part of our club for a couple of years. He is passionate about following Jesus and serving others. He works full-time at Safeway. He is a loyal friend.
